Brian Ford
Life Coach
In today's fast paced world, being a husband, partner, and/or father can be stressful, confusing and overwhelming. Many of the issues that men face are often difficult to address because men are often not taught the emotional skills at a young age. Men are taught to function in relationship but often lack the ability to express their thoughts and feelings. As a life coach, I am committed to working with you to improve relationships with partners, spouses and/or your children. As a father of two and husband married to my high school sweetheart, I understand the challenges faced raising a family and nurturing a long term relationship. I am passionate about working with other men to create passion and excitement about your life journey.
OUR THERAPY SERVICES
COUPLES COUNSELING
Conflict is an inevitable part of any relationship. How we argue and resolve arguments can determine our satisfaction in our marriage. When a couple is feeling disconnected and struggling to get along, it is often helpful to seek the professional assistance of a counselor to explore the root of the problem as well as to improve connection.
Heather is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy which treats couples by looking at attachment styles in order to improve communication and connections within the relationship.
"We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship." - Harville Hendrix
OUR THERAPY SERVICES
Affair Recovery
MARRIAGES CAN SURVIVE AN AFFAIR. There is Hope.
There are a few essential components needed in order to heal:
- Commitment and determination. The road to recovery will not be easy and it takes a lot of work. Once you make the commitment to work through an affair, you set the value of the relationship as greater than the pain of the process.
-Patience. Most couples take about 2 years to heal from an affair. Affair recovery is not a quick process.
-Therapy. Affair recovery can be complicated with many ups and downs throughout. Couples who successfully heal from an affair do so with the guidance of a therapist trained to work with infidelity.
The offended partner can often experience symptoms of Post-Infidelity Stress Disorder (PISD) which is similar to PTSD. Treatment is often required to heal from PISD.
OUR THERAPY SERVICES
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Our past experiences influence our current behaviors, thoughts and feelings. Through individual counseling, you can work to explore these patterns and create new ways to increase our capacity to connect with ourselves and others.
FAMILY THERAPY
Family relationships and roles can often lead to feelings of disconnection and isolation. Working with the whole family unit can lead to increased connection and healing.
"Healing doesn't mean the pain never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives" - NotSalmon.com
“When you love someone, you make mistakes together. You take steps backward together. You recover together. You fumble through the world together, because no matter how long you have been together, there are always going to be new things to learn.”
